Transfer students are offered a variety of on-and off-campus experiences to help them transition to WashU and feel at home in St. Louis!

The Transfer Experience begins with Bear Beginnings: Transfer Welcome

Transfer experience excursions and programs

Transfer Excursions are designed to connect transfer students to the city of St. Louis, to one another, and help them feel at home at WashU! Previous excursions have included trips to the St. Louis Aquarium, an outdoor ice skating rink, and private bus and walking tours of St. Louis neighborhoods. Opportunities will be advertised in the Transfer Bear Bulletin.

Transfer WashU Student Associate Program

Transfer WashU Student Associates (Transfer WUSAs) are upper-division student leaders who assist new transfer and exchange students with their academic, social, and personal transition to WashU.

Transfer WUSAs serve as orientation leaders during Fall Welcome, then they serve as peer mentors for the student’s entire first year. Their primary duties are to remind residents about academic deadlines, policies, and resources and to help build community among transfer students.

Transfer WUSA Hours are a university tradition that occur every other week throughout the fall semester, except for breaks, and the spring semester, until spring break. They are time to socialize with your WUSAs and fellow transfer students. They typically involve games, chatting, and community-building events.

Transfer Bear Bulletin

The Transfer Bear Bulletin is an e-Newsletter transfer students receive throughout their first year at WashU.  Newsletters will focus on important dates, deadlines, events on-and off-campus, and notices from Student Transitions & Engagement.
