Engineering Department Overview 

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Faculty will discuss academic opportunities for students interested in this department, including research. You will learn how the degree program is structured as well as what studying this major is like inside and outside the classroom. The various career options for the degree will be examined along with a review of what the department alumni are doing today.  

Individual Four-Year Advisor Meetings

Four-year advisors are available throughout the day to meet individually. Please check your advisor’s OnceHub calendar to find available times.

Writing Placement Exam*  

*Required for international students, optional for domestic students 

1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. 

All incoming McKelvey students are invited to complete the in-person writing placement exam. This exam is required for all international students and optional for domestic students. Those who take the exam may be placed in College Writing, placed in a course to prepare for College Writing, or exempted from taking College Writing. Those who do not take this exam will be required to enroll in College Writing, a course typically taken in the spring of your first year.
