During Bear Beginnings: Fall Welcome, you will have the opportunity to participate in “In the Lou,” a program designed to help you explore St. Louis and immerse yourself in its rich culture. These excursions, organized by Campus Life, will take place on Friday, August 23 and Saturday, August 24.

You will get to choose which off-campus excursion(s) in which you would like to participate during Bear Beginnings: Fall Welcome. You may also choose to stay on-campus and not participate in an excursion.

You must sign an off-campus event waiver to sign up for and participate in an “In the Lou” excursion.

Waiver for students 18 years of age or older

If you are currently 18 years of age or older and you would like to participate in off-campus excursions as part of the “In the Lou” program during Bear Beginnings: Fall Welcome and/or academic year, please sign the 18 and older off-campus waiver  by July 31, 2024.

Waiver for students under the age of 18

If you are currently under the age of 18 and would like to participate in off-campus excursions as part of the “In the Lou” program during Bear Beginnings: Fall Welcome and/or the academic year, please follow the applicable course of action below:

If you are not yet 18 but will turn 18 prior to your arrival to campus, please sign the 18 and older off-campus waiver after you turn 18 and before you arrive to campus for Move-In Day.
If you are not yet 18 but will turn 18 between August 16 – August 22, we will provide you with a copy of the 18 & older waiver to sign once you are on campus.
If you will not turn 18 until August 23 or later, please have your legal parent/guardian sign the under 18 copy of the off-campus waiver. Your legal parent/guardian will be emailed a link to sign the off-campus waiver for you.
