Follow the below tips to succeed during the application and interview process to become a WUSA.
Confirm the date, time, and location of your interview.
Make sure you are aware of the details of your interview and write them in your planner or calendar for reference.
Arrive in plenty of time.
If you are offered an interview, sign up for a time that works well for you and gives you time to travel and get settled for the interview.
We are not able to interview candidates who arrive late.
Thoroughly read the position descriptions.
The WUSA position descriptions provide a great deal of information. However, if there is a topic you would like further clarification on, please email Student Transitions & Engagement or ask your questions during your interview.
Consider your reasons for applying.
Think deeply about your reasons for pursuing the WUSA role. Ask yourself questions such as:
- What is the purpose of the WUSA role, as I understand it?
- What could I bring to the role? How might the role help me grow personally and professionally?
- How would I conduct myself as a WUSA? What kind of environment would I create for my new students?
Enjoy the experience, but take it seriously.
We encourage applicants to appreciate the application and interview process as a chance to learn about themselves and improve their interview skills.
However, it’s important to treat this process with respect, as it is indeed a job interview.
