Student health and well-being is an essential part of academic success while at WashU. This guide provides an understanding about the basics of healthcare, how health insurance works, and the best way for WashU students to access care and resources.

The first stop for healthcare for WashU students should be the Student Health Center– Danforth Campus (SHC) or the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CCPS). SCH provides excellent care for the evaluation and treatment of illness or injury, preventive health care, psychiatric services, and health education. We also have on-site ancillary services, including laboratory, x-ray, and pharmacy. SHC will bill your insurance for services provided.

CCPS is co-located in the SHC and provides individual and conjoint counseling, group therapy, outreach and prevention programming, consultation services, as well as crisis counseling. When appropriate, CCPS provides referrals to private resources in the community.

Students MUST complete important health documentation

Proof of immunization and a health history are required from all students. Any student who has not completed these health document requirements will not be allowed to enter their residence hall.
