Dean Aaron Bobick and Associate Dean Chris Kroeger will welcome new students\, review academic policies\, as well as curriculum information\, and discuss the services and resources provided by McKelvey School of Engineering. \n\n\n\nElectrical and Systems Engineering Department Overview\n\n\n\n1–2 p.m. \n\n\n\nGreen Hall\, Rodin Auditorium\n\n\n\nFaculty will discuss academic opportunities for students interested in Electrical Engineering and Systems Engineering\, including research. You will learn how the degree program is structured as well as what studying this major is like inside and outside the classroom. The various career options for the degree will be examined along with a review of what department alumni are doing today.\n\n\n\nComputer Science and Computer Engineering Department Overview\n\n\n\n2–3 p.m. \n\n\n\nWhitaker Hall\, room 100\n\n\n\nFaculty will discuss academic opportunities for students interested in Computer Science and Computer Engineering\, including research. You will learn how the degree program is structured as well as what studying this major is like inside and outside the classroom. The various career options for the degree will be examined along with a review of what department alumni are doing today.\n\n\n\nEnergy\, Environmental and Chemical Engineering Department Overview\n\n\n\n3–4 p.m. \n\n\n\nBauer Hall\, room 012\n\n\n\nFaculty will discuss academic opportunities for students interested in Energy\, Environmental and Chemical Engineering including research. You will learn how the degree program is structured as well as what studying this major is like inside and outside the classroom. The various career options for the degree will be examined along with a review of what department alumni are doing today.\n\n\n\nMeet Your Four-year Advisor* \n\n\n\n4–5 p.m. \n\n\n\nVarious locations\; please check your email for your specific time and location. \n\n\n\nMeet your four-year advisor in a short group meeting. You will also meet other new students as you ask your questions about classes\, scheduling\, and all things McKelvey Engineering.  \n\n\n\nTour the Makerspace \n\n\n\n4–5 p.m. \n\n\n\nJubel Hall\, Spartan Light Metal Products Makerspace\, first floor \n\n\n\nThe Spartan Light Metal Products Makerspace is where students learn to bring ideas to life. As a McKelvey Engineering student\, the Makerspace gives you access to a wide variety of tools and equipment for prototyping. Drop in for a quick tour before or after your group advising meeting and learn how you can begin creating.\n\n\n\n\n
